For property investors who are looking to diversify beyond residential properties, investment in retail property could be an option. The Q3 2016 RICS UK Commercial Property Market Survey says
“Despite the uncertain outlook for occupier demand given the current climate, surveyors do expect rents to increase, albeit modestly, in the near term”

Property week commissioned a study looking at the Hot 100 Retail Locations in the UK taking into account Headroom, Centre dominance in catchment, Population growth, Residential catchment size and Worker and tourist potential.
A number of non-London locations made the top of the list showing the growth potential in secondary destinations that may not necessarily spring to mind.
